Gweneth Elaine Moxham Eickman died at age 91 years on October 10, 2016 at the PEO Home in Beatrice, NE. She was born on the family farm, near Belleville, KS, November 25, 1924 to George and Fannie Moxham. She graduated from Belleville High School in 1942 and worked in Belleville as secretary and payroll clerk. Later she was secretary to the Chief Engineer of J.F. Pritchard and Co. in Kansas City.



On March 8, 1945 she married Warren Eickman of Chester, NE. A few weeks later Warren left for service in the U.S....

Gweneth Elaine Moxham Eickman died at age 91 years on October 10, 2016 at the PEO Home in Beatrice, NE. She was born on the family farm, near Belleville, KS, November 25, 1924 to George and Fannie Moxham. She graduated from Belleville High School in 1942 and worked in Belleville as secretary and payroll clerk. Later she was secretary to the Chief Engineer of J.F. Pritchard and Co. in Kansas City.



On March 8, 1945 she married Warren Eickman of Chester, NE. A few weeks later Warren left for service in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. She followed to be with him, received a Civil Service Appointment, and worked as secretary to the Chief Transportation Officer. After the war they moved back to Kansas.



Warren and Gweneth lived on several farms in Republic County before moving to Texas in 1956. They moved to Crete, NE the summer of 1958 and she worked a short time for the Dredla Law Firm. She then worked for the Crete Public Schools twenty-eight years as secretary/bookkeeper, for six different superintendents. Gwen did all the payroll and was in charge of all school finances. She was business manager for the school district when she retired in 1982.



Gwen was a member of the United Methodist Church and held many offices as a member of the United Methodist Women. She taught Sunday School and Bible School and was a leader in Cub Scouts and 4-H. She was a member of PEO in Chapters CM and FM and an associate member of the Fortnightly Club in Crete. She served on the Crete Public Schools Foundation Trust Board for several years. Gweneth loved any kind of sewing and was a member, for many years, of the Nebraska State Quilt Guild, Lincoln Quilt Guild, and the Prairie Dolls Quilt Group in Crete. She supported IQSCM (The Quilt House) on the University of Nebraska Campus for several years. Besides quilting and hand sewing she loved travel, books, flowers, but most of all her husband and children.



Survivors include her children Susan Weber and Anne Walden of Lincoln, Sarah (Ray) D’Aguanno of Coventry, RI, Paul (Eleanor) Eickman of Venice, FL, and Brad (Joann) Eickman of Denver, CO; her grandchildren The Reverend Jenny Weber, Matt Weber, Marc D’Aguanno, Jason D’Aguanno, Mitchell Walden, Andy Walden, Chemein Stinson, Austin Eickman, Brandon Eickman, Amber Castro, and William Eickman. She also leaves fifteen great-grandchildren, two sisters, Dorothy Richardson of Belleville, KS and Velma June Stauffer of Boulder City, NV and several in-laws from her husband’s family. She leaves many nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.



She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren, of 61 years, a son-in-law Marvin Weber, her parents, and two sisters. Memorials may be given to Christ United Methodist Church in Lincoln, Grace United Methodist Church in Crete, United Methodist Women, Crete Public Schools Foundation, and the PEO Home in Beatrice, NE.



Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery with a Memorial Service to follow at Christ United Methodist Church in Lincoln at 11:00 AM.
