February 1, 1930 – January 7, 2018



Born to Frank and Matilda Hanshaw in Washington County, Kansas. He served as a cook in the Army from 1950-1954. He married Jennie (Gardner) of Lincoln in 1959 and helped to raise her four children. To this union they added a daughter. They moved to a small acreage in Elmwood in 1972. He enjoyed horses, rodeos, tractors, farm sales, really bad jokes and being outdoors.

Survived by daughter Jana Ross (Mike Walker), grandson Ryan Nutter, granddaughter Brianne Ross, and great granddaughter Ella Staben; daughters by marriage Terrie Corliss (Jim & Family), Mickey Smith (Wayne & Family) and son by marriage John Scott Gardner (Leslie & Family), and brother Max Hanshaw (Buella).



Preceded in death by his wife, parents, daughter by marriage Bobbie Sinkler; brothers Ervin, Marvin and Philip and sisters Eva Zimmerman, Velma Towns, Mable Spier and Marilyn Dee Hanshaw.



Services will be held at Lincoln Memorial. Visitation will be Thursday, January 11th from 4-8pm and Funeral Friday, January 12th at 10am. Reception to follow.
