Obituary


Joe Botsford was born in Janesville, Wisconsin on May 12, 1953. Growing up he was surrounded by siblings, family and many friends that were adopted into the Botsford family. Joe was an active boy scout, an eagle scout and a proud graduate of Parker High School in the class of 1971.



After High School, Joe moved to Nebraska and two years later met his wife to be Patty. While in Omaha, Joe attended University of Nebraska-Omaha and was active in the Theta Chi fraternity. While in college, Joe fostered a love of Frisbee sports...

Joe Botsford was born in Janesville, Wisconsin on May 12, 1953. Growing up he was surrounded by siblings, family and many friends that were adopted into the Botsford family. Joe was an active boy scout, an eagle scout and a proud graduate of Parker High School in the class of 1971.



After High School, Joe moved to Nebraska and two years later met his wife to be Patty. While in Omaha, Joe attended University of Nebraska-Omaha and was active in the Theta Chi fraternity. While in college, Joe fostered a love of Frisbee sports and worked to make Frisbee activities available to everyone in the community.



On May 26, 1979, Joe and Patty married and were later blessed with two daughters. Joe worked for the State of Nebraska in different capacities for 25 years and retired in 2014. While working for the state, Joe received a Masters Degree in Public Administration and was an active member of the National Management Association (NMA). Later in life he joined the Lincoln Sower’s Group and volunteered at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital.



On November 23, 2016 Joe passed away at home. Joe is survived by his wife Patty, daughters: Angela (Bryce) Nielsen and Allison Botsford (Rick Lewis) and siblings: Bill (Ann) Botsford, Mary (Bob) Frei, Paul (Val) Botsford, Bob Botsford, sisters in law: Mary Botsford, Eunice Scheberl, Wendy Botsford and loved deeply by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Thomas and Dorothy (Snyder) Botsford and brother, John Botsford.
