Roger Lee Mittan, age 68, of Lincoln, passed away on September 15, 2016, after a courageous battle with ALS. He was born in Yankton, South Dakota, on February 17, 1948, to Dwight and Clare (Roth) Mittan. He grew up in Wausa, Nebraska, and graduated from Wausa High School in 1966. He had 1 brother and 1 sister.

Roger Lee Mittan, age 68, of Lincoln, passed away on September 15, 2016, after a courageous battle with ALS. He was born in Yankton, South Dakota, on February 17, 1948, to Dwight and Clare (Roth) Mittan. He grew up in Wausa, Nebraska, and graduated from Wausa High School in 1966. He had 1 brother and 1 sister.



Roger worked as a Plant Engineer at Faith Regional Hospital, Norfolk, Nebraska. Roger married Beverly Clement on November 5, 1983. They moved to Lincoln in October, 1997. He was employed at Lincoln Correctional Center, University of Nebraska-East Campus, and Gold’s Building until his retirement in 2013.



Roger was preceded in death by his father, Dwight Mittan; his step-father, Franklin Sherwood; and his mother, Clare Sherwood. He is survived by his wife, Beverly; son, John (Maggie) Mittan, Piedmont, CA; daughter, Ellen Darius, Richmond, CA; stepson, Chad (Dawn) Clement, Tabor, SD; stepdaughter, Wendy (Scott) Olson, Lincoln, NE. Grandchildren: Nolan and Kayla Darius, Eli Mittan and Benjamin Mittan. Step-grandchildren: Chelsea Brandenburger, Justin and Hunter Ave. Brother, Dan (Darlene) Mittan and sister, Susan (Mike) Watkins; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.



A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th Street, Lincoln, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be on Monday, September 19, 2016, at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service in Lincoln Memorial Park.
