The smallest pebble can make the biggest waves. Our sweet spark extinguished on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at 5PM, after succumbing to complications of her treatment following a tragic accident. Her last waking moments were holding her parents’ hands and reaching up to stroke her father’s beard, as was her custom in the early morning hours. We will forever be grateful for that final tender mercy of connection with our sweet love. Sawyer Belle was born into this world on February 18th 2015 prematurely and was a fighter all her life. Our family sends its love and gratitude to the tireless efforts of doctors, specialists, therapists and an army of compassionate medical professionals who ushered her into this world and fought to help her grow, develop, and stay with us to the very final moments. Her life was marked with joy, a smile, and a mane of hair that won over all who met her. Sawyer will be remembered in every stone skipped into a lake, as it was her greatest joy to toss rocks at her favorite park in Lincoln. The brightest flames burn out the fastest and she was called home to her Father in Heaven too soon for our hearts, but we put our faith in Him and our Savior, Jesus Christ, to heal all wounds. It is our hope and prayer that all who are hurting and mourning with us will find this same peace and solace.

Sawyer Belle is survived by her loving parents: Joshua and Elena Madsen. Her siblings, Huckleberry David and Harper Josephine. Her grandparents, David and Carol Madsen, and John and Susan Brockbank. She was preceded in death and greeted at the gates of paradise by her Mima Kim Madsen. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday December 3rd at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3000 Old Cheney Rd., beginning at 10 AM. There will be an open viewing at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St., from 4-8 PM on Friday December 2nd. The family requests that in lieu of flowers or gifts that you would consider donating to a memorial fund in Sawyer Belle’s behalf: givetaxfree.org/campaigns/sawyer-belle-madsen.
