William A. Tuning, 79, of Lincoln, passed away June 17, 2017. He was born on May 3, 1938 in Whittier, Ca, to Arnold F. and Helen (Brown) Tuning.

He graduated from Arcadia, Nebraska High School in 1956. Bill attended the University of Nebraska where he proudly wore #87 for the Cornhuskers until a career ending knee injury in his senior year. He entered the U.S. Army in 1961 and served until June of 1963. Bill married the love of his life, Janeen Waddel, on March 11, 1962. He became a professor...



William A. Tuning, 79, of Lincoln, passed away June 17, 2017. He was born on May 3, 1938 in Whittier, Ca, to Arnold F. and Helen (Brown) Tuning.

He graduated from Arcadia, Nebraska High School in 1956. Bill attended the University of Nebraska where he proudly wore #87 for the Cornhuskers until a career ending knee injury in his senior year. He entered the U.S. Army in 1961 and served until June of 1963. Bill married the love of his life, Janeen Waddel, on March 11, 1962. He became a professor in the Teachers College at the University of Nebraska where he taught for 35 years.



He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant brothers and beloved wife Janeen.



He is survived by brothers Jim of Centralia, WA, David of Spokane, WA and sister Pam (Dale) Henke of Syracuse and many nieces and nephews.
